It’s Friday! How are y’all feeling?

The work week isn’t done for me yet, but I am taking a quick break to post about some of the “good stuff” that I’ve enjoyed so far this week.

I had an amazing time attending the San Francisco Black Comix Art Festival. I’m not into comic books (at all), but I do love art and being around creative people so I was excited about going. I met so many talented artists at the festival! I had some incredible conversations with illustrators, writers and colorists. I was moved by their passion for using comics to communicate with their audiences – especially with respect to themes of race, gender and religion. My thoughts about comic books have been forever changed. I am excited about posting interviews with some of the artists and sharing their work in future posts.

I also received a package of pretty little things from Leah Chappell. She’s a Oakland based artist that I originally connected with on Instagram. I had the chance to hang out with her at one of her gallery shows and we’re planning to get together soon for an interview.

Last, but definitely not least, my Sorors and I celebrated our 109th Founder’s Day!

Tell me about some of the “good stuff” you enjoyed this week.
