It’s Friday, how are y’all feeling? I just wrapped up my last client project for the year and I’m feeling pretty good.

I am enjoying a little quiet time before the inevitable holiday season weekend whirlwind begins. For the next few hours I don’t want to see anything red, green or sparkly.

I’m also taking a break from the holiday music and putting on some of my favorite dance hall and reggae songs for the rest of the afternoon. Shabba Ranks is the antithesis of Santa Claus (I mean that in a good way) and that’s exactly what I need right now.

I’m looking forward to working on some fun personal projects during the holiday break. I’ve been thinking about creating a graphic novel for the last few months; this may be a good time to start. Aya of Yop City is one of my favorite graphic novels, Marguerite Abouet’s story lines perfectly capture the nuances of West African culture and  Clément Oubrerie’s illustrations really bring the story to life.

I haven’t had much time for beading recently, but I’ve sketched out a some new patterns that I want to weave soon. In 2017 I’ll be adding more beaded pieces to my Scotchbonnet! Shop. I will also be introducing new colorways and updating the look & feel of the website. Stay tuned!

This weekend I am going to a vision board party. I’m bringing brownies and Rosé. I love the feeling of filling up a blank page with images of what I envision for the future – that part always comes easy to me. What’s more challenging is making a step-by-step action plan and setting checkpoints to get things done.

That’s what’s going on in my World. What’s good with you?
