MONDAY MOTIVATION: 11.14.16

Ideally, I like to start my week energized and hit the ground running. Today is not one of those ideal days.

I feel like the recent election has emboldened some our country’s cruelest and most close-minded individuals; it’s been sickening to watch some of the fallout. While it’s tempting to pull the covers over my head and go back to sleep, I’m reminded of a quote that my Dad has hanging in his office.

“Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up, it knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve. It doesn’t matter whether you’re the lion or a gazelle – when the sun comes up you must be running.”

I definitely don’t feel like the “fastest gazelle” this morning, but I am up and running. What about you?
