It’s Friday! How are y’all feeling?

This week flew by super fast – it was a lot of long conference calls, a flurry of emails and responding to a few post-holiday urgent requests. Things have been busy.

I’ve been so wrapped up in work that I don’t think I’ve watched television since Sunday night when the Golden Globes were on. I was happy that Fences and Hidden figures got a lot of love during the ceremony. August Wilson is an amazing playwright and Denzel Washington & Viola Davis did an outstanding job bringing his work to life (both, on Broadway and on the big screen). I haven’t seen Hidden Figures yet, but I’ve hear good things about it and I hope to see it soon.

I feel like I am always posting about Donald Glover (or Childish Gambino, his musical persona) and this week is no exception. Atlanta is a big hit in my household and it’s great to see that lots of other people feel the same. I would describe the show as a “every day dramatic comedy with a good soundtrack”. I don’t think there is a Golden Globe category for that, but the show did pick up a Golden Globe for Best Television Series (Musical or Comedy) and Donald Glover won for Best Actor (Television Series Musical or Comedy). His acceptance speech was so humble and heartfelt…and he shouted out Migos for making the song “Bad and Boujee“; it gets no better!

Tracee Ellis Ross took home the Golden Globe for Best Actress (Musical or Comedy TV Series) for her role in Black-ish. In my opinion she also should have won the award for best dressed. She wore a silver Zuhair Murad dress and sparkling crystal Christian Louboutin heels, but what really set the outfit over the top for me was the way she accessorized with an eclectic mix of stacked diamond rings. Gorgeous!

This weekend I am taking a break from work and enjoying the long weekend.

How was your week? What do you have on deck for the weekend?
